CrC Repair® Lifetime Warranty on Mobile Phone Screen Repairs

Our Commitment to You

At CrC Repair®, we stand behind the quality of our work. That is why every mobile phone screen repair carried out at any of our stores is backed by a lifetime warranty — a guarantee that reflects our confidence in the parts we use and the technicians who fit them.

This warranty is our promise that if a screen fault develops as a direct result of the repair itself, we will put it right. No fuss, no unnecessary charges, and no need to return to the exact store where the repair was originally carried out.

What the Lifetime Warranty Covers

The lifetime warranty applies exclusively to mobile phone screen repairs completed at any CrC Repair® store. It covers defects arising from the repair itself, including:

  • Screen faults caused by a manufacturing defect in the replacement part
  • Display issues such as discolouration, unresponsive touch, or backlight failure that are attributable to the repair
  • Problems with the screen fitting or connection that are directly related to how the repair was performed

If you experience any of these issues following your screen repair, you are welcome to visit any CrC Repair® store — it does not have to be the location where the original repair was carried out. Our team will assess the device and, where the fault falls within the terms of the warranty, the repair will be resolved at no cost to you.

What the Lifetime Warranty Does Not Cover

The lifetime warranty is designed to protect you against faults that arise from the repair itself, not damage that occurs after the device has been returned to you. The following are explicitly excluded from the warranty:

Physical Damage

Any damage caused by dropping, crushing, bending, or otherwise physically impacting the device after the repair is not covered under this warranty. If a screen is cracked, shattered, or otherwise broken as the result of an accident or misuse, this falls outside the scope of the warranty regardless of when the original repair was completed.

Liquid or Water Damage

Damage caused by exposure to liquids, moisture, or humidity after the repair has been completed is not covered.

Damage Caused by Unauthorised Repairs

If the device is opened, adjusted, or repaired by anyone other than a CrC Repair® technician after your original screen repair, the warranty will be voided.

General Wear and Tear

Gradual deterioration in performance over time that is unrelated to the original screen repair is not covered.

Green Line Faults: What They Are and Why They Are Not Covered

What Is a Green Line Fault?

A green line fault refers to a thin, persistent vertical or horizontal line — most commonly green, but sometimes white, pink, or another colour — that appears on a mobile phone screen. This line is fixed in place and does not move or disappear regardless of what is displayed on screen.

Green line faults are most commonly reported on OLED and AMOLED displays, which are used in a wide range of modern smartphones including many iPhone, Samsung Galaxy, and Google Pixel models. These display technologies use organic compounds to produce light, and they can be susceptible to certain types of damage that standard LCD screens are not.

What Causes a Green Line Fault?

Green line faults are almost always caused by physical damage to the display panel itself. The most common causes include:

  • Impact to the device, such as a drop or knock, that places stress on the display
  • Pressure being applied to the screen, for example from being sat on or placed in a tight pocket
  • Bending or flex of the device body, which places stress on the internal ribbon cables or display connections
  • A pre-existing crack or minor impact that has caused internal panel damage not immediately visible to the naked eye

In some cases, a green line can appear hours or even days after an impact, which can make it appear unrelated to any incident the user is aware of. However, in the vast majority of cases, the fault is traceable back to physical stress placed on the panel.

Why Green Line Faults Are Not Covered by the Lifetime Warranty

Because green line faults are caused by physical damage to the display panel — rather than a defect in the replacement screen or the quality of the repair — they fall under the physical damage exclusion of the CrC Repair® lifetime warranty.

A replacement screen fitted by our technicians is a new component installed correctly and tested before the device is returned to the customer. If that screen subsequently develops a green line fault, this is indicative of an external force or impact having been applied to the device after the repair was completed. This is not a failure of the part or of the workmanship, and as such it cannot be covered under the warranty.

We understand this can sometimes be frustrating, particularly when the damage is not visually obvious. Our technicians are always happy to assess your device and explain what they find. If you are unsure whether the fault you are experiencing is covered, please bring the device into any of our stores and we will carry out a free assessment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the lifetime warranty apply to tablet or laptop screen repairs?

No. The lifetime warranty applies exclusively to mobile phone screen repairs. Tablet repairs and other device repairs are covered under our standard 12-month warranty.

Do I need to go back to the same store to make a claim?

No. You can visit any CrC Repair® store to make a warranty claim. Our team can access repair records and handle your claim regardless of which location carried out the original repair.

What if I cannot find my receipt?

A receipt is helpful but not always essential. Our team will do their best to verify the repair using our records. Please bring the device with you and speak to a member of staff.

My screen developed a green line — is this covered?

Green line faults are caused by physical damage to the display panel and are not covered under the lifetime warranty. Please bring the device into any store and our technician will carry out a free assessment to explain the fault in more detail.

What if my phone was damaged again after the repair?

If the device has suffered physical damage, liquid exposure, or any other accidental damage after the repair, this falls outside the warranty terms. Our team can still help – we can assess the device and provide a quote for repair.

Is the lifetime warranty transferable if I sell my phone?

The warranty is provided to the customer who had the repair carried out. It is not transferable to a subsequent owner of the device.
