Our Warranty at a Glance

Lifetime Warranty – Mobile Phone Screen Repairs

We are so confident in the quality of the screens we fit that we offer a lifetime warranty on all mobile phone screen repairs. That’s not a typo. For as long as you own your device, if the screen we fitted develops a fault due to the part itself or the workmanship of our repair, we will put it right — free of charge.

This lifetime warranty covers manufacturing defects in the screen, issues with touch sensitivity, display faults such as dead pixels or backlight problems, and any fault that can be attributed to the part or the repair itself. It does not cover accidental damage, such as new cracks, drops, or liquid damage sustained after the repair — but for everything within our control, we stand behind our work completely.

This is how confident we are in what we do.

A Note on Green Lines and Screen Panel Damage

One of the more common screen issues we see in our stores is the appearance of a green line on the display. We want to be fully transparent about this, as it’s an area that can sometimes cause confusion for customers.

A green line appearing on your screen is a sign that the internal screen panel has been damaged. The panel itself — the OLED or LCD layer inside the display — has sustained a fracture or internal break, which causes the display to malfunction and produce that characteristic vertical green line.

Unfortunately, green line faults are not covered under our warranty, and we want to explain clearly why this is the case.

Despite what can sometimes appear to be no visible external damage to the device — no cracked glass, no visible signs of impact — a green line does not appear on a screen by itself. For the internal panel to fracture in this way, the device must have experienced some form of impact, pressure, or stress. This could be something as subtle as the phone being sat on, placed in a tight pocket, dropped onto a soft surface that absorbed the external impact without cracking the glass, or subjected to higher-than-normal pressure at a specific point. The outer glass can survive such an event completely intact while the delicate internal panel beneath it sustains damage.

Because the root cause is physical damage — even when that damage is not immediately visible on the outside of the device — green line faults fall outside the scope of our warranty, which covers manufacturing defects and workmanship, not damage caused by external forces.

We understand this can be frustrating, particularly when the phone looks undamaged from the outside. Our team will always take the time to explain the diagnosis in store and discuss your repair options with you. A screen replacement can resolve a green line issue, and our team will provide you with a clear quote before any work is carried out.

1-Year Warranty – All Other Device Repairs

For all other repairs across mobile phones and a wide range of other devices, we provide a 1-year warranty. This covers the part fitted and the workmanship of the repair. If a fault develops within 12 months that is related to the repair we carried out, simply bring your device back to any of our 10 UK stores and we’ll assess and resolve the issue at no cost to you.

Repairs covered under the 1-year warranty include, but are not limited to:

  • Battery replacements – mobile phones, tablets, laptops, MacBooks, and more
  • Charging port repairs – USB-C, Lightning, Micro-USB, and proprietary connectors
  • Speaker and microphone repairs
  • Camera repairs – front and rear cameras across all device types
  • Button repairs – power buttons, volume buttons, home buttons
  • Screen repairs on non-mobile devices – tablets, laptops, MacBooks, gaming consoles

The 1-year warranty applies across all device categories we service, including:

  • Laptops and MacBooks – Apple, Dell, HP, Lenovo, ASUS, and more
  • Tablets – iPad, Samsung Galaxy Tab, Microsoft Surface, and others
  • Gaming consoles – PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and more
  • Desktop computers and all-in-ones

No matter what device you bring to us, our 1-year warranty ensures you’re protected well beyond the day of your repair.

3-Month Warranty – Soldering and Microsoldering Repairs

Repairs that involve soldering work — such as microsoldering, board-level repairs, connector re-soldering, and component-level fixes — carry a 3-month warranty, unless otherwise stated at the time of repair.

Soldering repairs are amongst the most technically complex and delicate work we carry out. While our technicians are highly skilled and we use quality materials, the nature of board-level repairs means that pre-existing damage, underlying faults, or the condition of the board itself can sometimes affect long-term outcomes in ways that are beyond our control. We want to be transparent about this, while still ensuring you have meaningful protection on this type of work.

If a longer warranty is agreed upon at the time of the repair, this will be confirmed to you in writing on your repair receipt.

Why Our Warranty Stands Out

A warranty is only as good as the company standing behind it. Here’s what makes the CrC Repair® warranty different:

We use quality parts. We don’t source the cheapest components available. We invest in parts that are built to last, because a repair that fails in two months is a poor experience for you and a poor reflection on us.

Our technicians are trained and experienced. Every repair is carried out by a skilled technician who takes pride in their work. Rushed, careless repairs lead to warranty claims — so doing it right the first time is always our priority.

10 stores across the UK – With 10 locations nationwide, making a warranty claim is straightforward. Visit any of our stores — not just the one where your repair was originally carried out — and our team will be happy to help.

No small print designed to catch you out. Our warranty terms are clear. We tell you upfront what is and isn’t covered so there are no surprises.

What Is and Isn’t Covered

What Is Covered

  • Faults in the replacement part itself (e.g. a battery that fails to hold charge, a screen that develops dead pixels)
  • Issues directly relating to the workmanship of the repair (e.g. a charging port that becomes loose due to improper fitting)
  • Any defect that was not present at the time the device was returned to you and cannot be attributed to external damage or misuse

What Is Not Covered

  • Accidental damage occurring after the repair (cracked screens, liquid damage, physical damage from drops or impact)
  • Faults unrelated to the repair we carried out
  • Damage caused by unauthorised third-party repairs carried out after your visit to us
  • Normal wear and tear
  • Software issues or faults not related to a hardware repair

How to Make a Warranty Claim

  2. Visit any of our 10 UK stores. You don’t have to return to the original store — any CRC Repair location can handle your warranty claim.
  3. Speak to our team. Explain the issue and show your receipt. Our technician will assess the device and determine whether the fault falls under warranty.
  4. We’ll fix it. If the fault is covered, we will carry out the repair at no cost to you, as quickly as possible.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Does the lifetime warranty on screen repairs really last forever?

Yes. For as long as you own the device, if the screen we fitted develops a fault due to the part or the quality of the repair, we will replace it free of charge. The only conditions are that the fault is not the result of accidental damage (such as a new drop or crack) or liquid damage after the repair.

Do I have to go back to the same store where my repair was done?

No. You can visit any of our 10 UK stores to make a warranty claim. All of our stores operate under the same warranty policy, so whichever location is most convenient for you is absolutely fine.

What if I’ve lost my receipt?

We recommend keeping your receipt safe as it is the primary proof of your warranty. If you’ve lost it, please speak to our team — we keep records of repairs and may be able to look up your repair using your device details and contact information.

Is my warranty affected if someone else repairs my phone after CrC Repair®?

Yes. If another repair shop or individual carries out work on your device after your repair with us, your warranty for that repair will be void. This is because we cannot be responsible for faults introduced by third-party work.

My phone screen is damaged again — is that covered?

Physical damage to the screen after your repair — such as a new crack from a drop — is not covered under warranty, as this is accidental damage rather than a fault with the part or repair. However, if the screen fails for any non-accidental reason (such as touch issues, display faults, or backlight problems), this would be covered.

How long does a warranty repair take?

We aim to carry out warranty repairs as quickly as possible — in many cases, the same speed as the original repair. Turnaround times depend on the nature of the fault and parts availability, but our team will give you a clear timeframe when you bring the device in.

Does the 1-year warranty cover all types of devices?

Yes. The 1-year warranty applies to all device types we repair, including mobile phones (for non-screen repairs), laptops, MacBooks, tablets, gaming consoles, and desktop computers.

What does the 3-month warranty on soldering repairs cover?

It covers faults directly related to the soldering work carried out — for example, a re-soldered connector that fails or a component that was replaced at board level that stops functioning. It does not cover pre-existing damage to the board or unrelated faults that develop after the repair.

Can I get a longer warranty on a soldering repair?

In some cases, yes. If a longer warranty is agreed upon at the time of your repair, this will be clearly stated on your receipt. Please speak to our technician before the repair is carried out if this is something you’d like to discuss.

Is the warranty transferable if I sell my device?

The warranty is tied to the repair and the device rather than the individual customer. If you sell your device, please pass on the original repair receipt, and the new owner may be able to make use of the remaining warranty. Please speak to our team for more details in your specific situation.
