Gaming PC build — custom PCs specified and built at Pocket Geek by CrC Repair® stores
Custom gaming PC build — designed around how you play
A gaming PC should be built for your games, your monitor and your budget, not for a manufacturer’s price point. That’s the idea behind the gaming PC build service from Pocket Geek by CrC Repair®, available in all ten of our UK shops: we plan the specification with you, buy the parts, assemble the machine by hand, test it under full load and hand it over ready to play.
Shop-bought pre-builts often save money in places you can’t see — cooling that throttles under a long session, a power supply with no spare capacity, a case or motherboard that makes upgrades awkward, and software you never wanted. A custom build avoids all of that, because every part is chosen for the resolution, frame rate and workload you actually need.
Whether it’s your first PC after years on console, a replacement for a machine that can’t keep up, or a flagship with nothing held back, the process starts with a free, no-obligation consultation. Book a gaming PC consultation or call into your nearest store.

Your free consultation — where every build starts
Before anything is ordered, we sit down with you and cover the points that decide the right specification:
Games and targets
What you play now, what you’re waiting for, and the resolution, settings and frame rate you want to hit.
Everything else it needs to do
Streaming, video editing, content creation or work software — so the processor, memory and storage are sized for all of it.
Platform preferences
Intel or AMD for the processor, GeForce or Radeon for graphics — with honest advice if you haven’t decided.
Size, looks and noise
Compact or full tower, glass panels and RGB or a quiet, understated build.
Budget and existing parts
Where your money makes the biggest difference, and which of your current components can move across.
Timing
When you need the PC ready, so we can plan orders around it.
There’s no pressure to commit on the day. We’d rather you walk away with a clear plan and a firm price than sign up for a build that isn’t quite right.

Why each part matters
The decisions that make a custom build better than an off-the-shelf one:
The graphics card sets the pace
It’s the biggest single factor in gaming performance. We’ll show you where the value sits in the current GeForce and Radeon ranges instead of defaulting to the most expensive card.
DDR5 on current platforms
Current Intel and AMD platforms benefit from DDR5, and Ryzen 7000 and 9000 only support it. Speed and capacity are matched to the processor and your workload.
No spinning boot drives
Every build boots from an NVMe SSD for fast start-up, short loading screens and a responsive desktop. Larger secondary drives can be added for game libraries.
Cooling sized for sustained load
Air or all-in-one liquid cooling chosen for the processor and case, so clock speeds hold through long sessions. Custom loops are available for the ultimate look and thermals.
A power supply with headroom
One of the most commonly under-specified parts. Ours are rated for the build’s real draw with sensible margin for stability and future upgrades.
The right motherboard
Chipset and features matched to the processor — a cost-effective B650 for a mid-range Ryzen, an X870E for a flagship, or Z890 for an overclocking Core Ultra build.
Gaming PC build tiers
Every build is priced individually — these tiers simply show what different budgets tend to deliver:
Entry-level 1080p
Smooth, high-detail play at 1080p. A strong first PC or budget build, on a platform you can upgrade over time.
Mid-range 1440p
High to ultra settings at QHD — the sweet spot for most players, without paying for flagship parts.
High-end 4K and high refresh
4K play, fast refresh rates at QHD, or heavy streaming, editing and 3D work alongside games, built on flagship or near-flagship parts.
Flagship, no compromise
An RTX 5090, a top Ryzen or Core Ultra processor, a custom liquid loop and a premium chassis, with nothing compromised.
How we build your gaming PC
Six steps, followed in every branch:
1. Free consultation
We agree your requirements, games, preferences and budget, with no obligation.
2. Itemised quote
A full parts list with each component priced, plus the build labour shown separately, for your approval.
3. Sourcing
Parts ordered from reputable suppliers to the agreed specification — nothing is swapped without your say-so.
4. Assembly
Built by hand with careful component seating, planned airflow, tidy cable management and quality thermal paste.
5. Stress testing
Processor and graphics card run under sustained load to confirm stability and safe temperatures before handover.
6. Windows and handover
A clean Windows 11 install with drivers and any software you ask for, then a walk-through of your new PC.
Gaming PC build prices
The cost of a custom gaming PC depends on the parts you choose. You receive a complete list with every component priced individually and a separate labour figure before anything is ordered, giving you full visibility of the cost and the freedom to tweak the specification before you commit.
The labour charge includes putting the PC together, routing the cables, applying thermal compound, load testing, setting up Windows and drivers, and walking you through the finished machine. The total you approve is the total you pay — no hidden extras and no substitutions without your approval. Book your free consultation to get your price.
Custom build or pre-built — not a pop-up job
Pre-built gaming PCs have improved, but mass-market machines are still specified around margins. Coolers are often undersized, power supplies are rated at the bare minimum and proprietary cases or boards can make upgrades difficult or expensive.
A custom build from our stores works the other way round. You decide on the parts with our advice, cooling and power are sized for the real workload, every component is a standard part you can upgrade later, and the finished PC is stress-tested before it leaves the store — not boxed and shipped on trust.
