The fault we see most on PlayStations is a console that seems to work — you hear the start-up sound and the pad glows, yet the television reports nothing coming in. A cable tugged or left at an angle has usually damaged the HDMI socket.
We remove the old port from the motherboard, solder in a new one and test the picture on a real screen, often the same day. If someone has told you the board is finished, ask us to take a look before paying out for a replacement.
